Hello again honeybees! I’m back with two TBRs for two exciting readathons happening this weekend! I’ve been anxiously awaiting Zoë’s announcement for almost a year now so I am beyond excited to participate in her 24 hour readathon! I’ve also never “won”/accomplished a 25 in 5 readathon so my goal is completion above anything else.
Alright, let’s get into the books!
Zoë’s Readathon TBR
Prompt: read a book you are grateful for. This could be any book with special meaning to you.
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
I loved this book when I read it last year. It was the first book to make me sit down and sob, so of course I need to break my heart again.
Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I adored the first book a few years ago so hopefully I get through the second book quickly. It seems like a short enough read full of action and adventure. I’m also so pumped for Memento! And I’m grateful a character like AIDAN exists so it fits.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
Also known as: my favorite book of all time. I’ve only read it twice and I’m in desperate need of a reread. I miss Dante Quintana with my whole heart. This book was a mirror, reflecting my heart with every ink stain. I think of it almost daily.
8 in 2 readathon TBR
Assuming I finish all of my reads for Zoë’s readathon, I will have read more than eight hours in one day, completing the challenge. But I still want to challenge myself to read more on Sunday, so (assuming I read the full eight the previous day) I’m going to start back at zero and try to read for eight hours. My TBR:
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
If you weren’t here the first 1,000 times I’ve mentioned it,
oops I co-host a book club. I’ve read one of the picks for this month and now I’m on to this beauty! Hopefully I do get to it soon because I love Ruta Sepetys.
And, if time and my body permits:
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Simon is my second favorite and while it’s a short book, all of the emotions I go through while reading make me put it down several times to collect myself. But I’m overdue for a reread of one of my forever faves so it made the list.
Yes, I’m being completely unreasonable and probably won’t even finish a book. But what’s the point in making a TBR if it isn’t going to be over the top?
Are you participating in either of these readathons? Which books are you excited to read, either during the readathon or just this weekend in general?
Bye for now honeybees.
