The dark unknown beckons.
Rune Jenkins has a long-standing infatuation with anything from the supernatural world, and she’s trying to hide it. If she doesn’t, she angers her reckless twin brother Ryker, and starts feeling like her own sanity is slipping. But the closer she gets to Grey Malteer – an old friend who waves his fascination with fantasy like a flag – the harder it becomes to stifle her own interest. The supernatural suddenly invades their reality when other-worldly creatures come hunting for the three college students. With help from a mysterious savior Rune and Grey escape, but must follow Ryker’s abductors into an alternate dimension, Eon, and discover their true identities. They are Venators, descendants of genetically enhanced protectors and sentries between Eon and Earth. In this world of fae, vampires, werewolves, and wizards, power is abundant and always in flux. Ryker is missing, and Rune and Grey are being set up as pawns in a very dangerous game. The three must find their way through and out of Eon, before it consumes them.
This book was so unexpected. I really underestimated how much I was going to enjoy this one. Going into it, I knew that I love paranormal romance and anything to do with paranormal creatures/situations. But the beginning really pulled me in and kept me engaged.
I loved Grey and I preferred all the bits with his POV over Rune’s. I didn’t understand a lot of the choices she made, and she frustrated me on several occasions. However, Grey was so complex and vibrant for a character, I loved how dynamic he was. Watching the pair grow together in a totally new, unique environment with high stakes was so much fun!
“Anything and everything you’ve ever read about probably exists here. It’s all real.”
I got a lot of TMI vibes from this quote and some of the scenarios, which made the story very comfortable to fall into. The world was so interesting and full of the paranormal. The writing was so descriptive and smooth, which perfectly complimented the heart pounding action in every chapter.
I recommend this book to lovers of Fantasy novels!
